Low-Point Chicken Fried Steak with Gravy

Ingredients (2 servings)

Steak

  • 2 lean cube steaks (about 4 oz each)
  • ½ cup liquid egg whites
  • ½ cup whole-wheat panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • Salt & pepper
  • Cooking spray

Gravy

  • 1 cup fat-free chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ cup 0% Greek yogurt
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Prep the steak
    Pound cube steaks slightly to tenderize.
  2. Coat
    Dip steaks in egg whites, then coat with panko mixed with garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cook
    Spray a non-stick pan well with cooking spray.
    Cook steaks 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  4. Make the gravy
    In the same pan add chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
    Mix cornstarch with 2 tbsp cold water and stir into the broth until thick.
  5. Make it creamy
    Remove from heat and stir in Greek yogurt.
    Season with garlic powder, pepper, and salt.
  6. Serve
    Pour gravy over the chicken fried steak.

Weight Watchers Points (approx.)

  • 3–4 points per serving depending on bread crumbs used.

Tip to make it even lower points

Use crushed cornflakes or Fiber One cereal instead of panko — this can bring it down to 2–3 points.
